Enameled Copper - Product Description
Enameled copper provides some of the brightest and most colorful jump rings you will find. They are made by coating the wire with an enamel that makes for shiny rings that are a pleasure to work with and wear.

Silvered enameled copper is made by plating the copper wire with a layer of pure silver before enameling, which creates a brilliant shine. Unlike niobium and titanium, copper rings must be colored before they are cut. This leaves the original copper wire visible at the cut. However, these are saw-cut rings, so if you close them well, no copper should be visible.

As with all colored rings, some fading will occur over time, but we find that can add a nice dimension to your work. The actual colors may differ slightly from batch to batch, as each spool of wire can be slightly different.

Our mix colors are roughly an even mixture of the colors and each bag will have different amounts of each color. These mixes are designed to be a mix and to give you a variety of color to work with or to create a unique piece of "jumpring stew". If you need a set amount of each color we suggest you purchase the individual colors instead of a mix. Also, occasionally we will throw a few limited quantity colors into a mix to enhance the mix. They are a surprise treat and not to be expected every time or to be found with our regular rings.

Enameled Copper - Specifications
Our jump rings follow the American Wire Gauge (AWG), also known as Brown and Sharpe (B&S). All sizes listed are inside diameter (I.D.), measured in millimeters which corresponds to the size of the mandrel onto which the wire is wound. Use these I.D.'s as a guide, not an absolute, as springback can occur.

Wire diameter may vary up to 0.03mm (0.0012”) larger or smaller than the listed size.

**UPDATE PLEASE READ**
Over the last few months you may have noticed that some of our enameled copper rings have been out of stock (flag blue!). Since we have been supplying enameled copper we have always looked to provide our customers with top quality rings. Unfortunately within the last few years our supplier has made changes to the way that they manufacture the wire. We have been unable to get the same quality we once did and regret to inform that some rings will come with slight variances depending on the batch.

We suggest to always purchase as much of a color as you need for a complete project. From time to time we have received wire that tends to "peel". If one in 20 rings seems like it might peel, we will manufacture the rings, and this will be considered a normal occurrence with our enameled copper rings. Anything more than that, and we will not offer it to the public.

We must inform you that we can't accept returns based on rings that peel, or off color enameled copper rings. These slight defects are not ideal, but they are becoming a regular occurrence in order to still provide our customers with the enameled copper options. Quality is always our first concern and if we feel that there is a color that is not performing to our standards we may have to discontinue it. We apologize and regret that this is the case. Please contact us if you have questions about a specific color or size.

Certain colors of wire have more layers added on to them than others, this makes for the slightest hair of thickness added to certain colors. If you have a super sensitive weave, again please contact us first before ordering. Red and green are both known to be "fat" colors of enameled copper.

**Important Notice: Orders with more than 2 packs of an item may be bulk packaged at WGM's discretion. However, colors and sizes will not be mixed in a bag.

Having utilized rings from other companies in the past, Weave Got Maille consistently has the best quality of rings I have ever utilized. The sizing is true, the MM and ID are consistent, subsequently my end product is beautiful!

Good rings, if a bit pricey

    Jan 26th 2018

The rings are good quality. I've had to pitch 6 of 750, an excellent radio! My only complaint is the price. They are more than twice as expensive from the company I typically purchase from but they did not have the size/color combination I needed for this project. On the upside, there have been consistently 300-315 rings per once package instead of the 232 listed on the website.

    The backbone of my business

    Dec 18th 2017

I restarted my small jewelry business last July after a 5 year hiatus. I decided to try Chain Maille as a new technique, and quickly fell in love with it. I only use simple designs--so far--but I love experimenting with color. I've used several sizes of enameled copper jump rings, mostly in 18 gauge, but I mostly get rings with an inner diameter of 3.5, 5, or 7 mm. They are consistent in size and color. The enamel can be a little sensitive, but not if I keep my tools covered with Tool Magic. My customers love the vibrant colors, and I love knowing that I'm giving my customers the best I can find.
