Our Jump rings are anodized before they are cut so the ends are raw aluminum however with the coating thickness we use and with the thin blades we cut our Jump rings with, if you close the rings properly the seam can not be seen.

Our Anodized Aluminum Jump rings are anodized in house at our sister company, Premier Anodizing & Metal Finishing. This assures that we will never be out of stock of a color and that we have control over our quality.  However, the colors can change slightly from batch to batch. We use a spectrometer to get the closest color matches possible but there still can be some differences, this is normal in the anodizing process. Therefore, you should order enough jump rings to finish your project all at the same time. FDA Approved - The anodizing process we use is FDA approved for cookware. Premier Anodizing uses only organic dyes and is rated non-hazardous.

Jump Ring Weight - Anodized Aluminum Jump rings are lighter weight than Enameled Copper Jump rings. The coating is fairly hard but it can be scratched with steel.

Anodized Aluminum Jump Rings - Specifications

Our jump rings follow the American Wire Gauge (AWG), also known as Brown and Sharpe (B&S). All sizes listed are inside diameter (I.D.), which corresponds to the size of the mandrel onto which the wire is wound. Use these I.D.'s as a guide not an absolute as springback can occur.

AWG Wire Measurements
Size Inches (Imperial) Millimeter (Metric)
20awg (Aluminum) .035" .9mm
20awg (Other Metals) .032" .8mm
18awg .040" 1.0mm
16awg 3/64" 1.2mm

Excellent! Colors across all bags ordered were consistent. Cut on rings was clean, easy to match when closing. I didn't see any nonconforming rings in any bags, , cool!!! I am digging products from this outfit. :-)

    Wire Gauge Not Correct

    Dec 17th 2016

The rings look good and the anodizing is smooth and consistent, you easily see that they are good quality. However - BEWARE: This was my first purchase of "20 Gauge AWG" rings from this company, and I thought I was purchasing genuine 20 gauge rings - until I began using them and they were WAY too tight for my project, so I came back to the WGM website and read that their "20ga" rings are .9mm wire diameter, which is NOT TRUE 20 GAUGE. 20ga = .8128mm. These rings are actually 19ga AWG. I gave them only 2 stars only because of this - the gauge number is misleading, and I suggest using a slightly larger ID to adjust the AR if you are doing an AR-sensitive project.
