Join Us In The Battle Against Breast Cancer

Feb 13th 2020

If you’ve been following along with our What’s New Wednesday series, then you know that Weave Got Maille just added two new kits to our Byzantine Steps collection. We are so excited to introduce these kits, as they represent a cause near and dear to our hearts—the fight against breast cancer. The two kits, which both sport shades of pink, join an old favorite, “Think Pink!” as part of our breast cancer awareness project. As with “Think Pink!” the profits from sales of these two kits will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer affecting women worldwide and is the second most prevalent form of cancer in women in the United States. Approximately 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. It’s estimated that in 2020, there will be 276,480 new cases of women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.

These new additions to our breast cancer awareness collection are in support of all who have been impacted by the disease. They are in memory of those who have lost the battle against breast cancer, in support of those currently undergoing treatment, and in celebration of those who have won the fight.

I Wear Pink For Her!I Wear Pink For Her!
Breast cancer has an impact on people around the world. Whether it’s you, a family member, or friend that has been diagnosed with the disease, remember, we are in this together. Wearing this beautiful solid pink bracelet around your wrist makes a powerful statement; “I Wear Pink For Her, for you, and for us.”

Promise of Hope
Being on the receiving end of a breast cancer diagnosis can be devastating for both the patient and their loved ones. While it may feel like there is an uphill battle ahead, have faith. Wear this pink and silver bracelet like armor and remember, even in the darkest days, there is still the Promise of Hope.

While the inspiration behind these new Byzantine Steps Kits is clear, our goal is two-fold: to bring awareness to breast cancer and to remind women how crucial it is to get screened for the disease. Breast cancer screenings are important not only for ourselves but for our loved ones, and early detection of the disease can save lives. Join us, the artists of the Maille, as we stand up and raise awareness for this life-altering disease and encourage women to get regular breast cancer check-ups.
